Edgar Allan Poe: Narrative of A. Gordon Pym

Herman Melville's Mobby Dick and Edgar A. Poe's Narrative of A. Gordon Pym are viewed as classic literary American novels. Seafaring stories.

Although both authors were certainly masters of American syntax, and their narratives are flawless, they will never be considered universal literary masterpieces. And though they come close to being tedious works that one must read for content; it is this same content that mars the novels--both are womanless.

In my view, novels wihout women and love cannot be universal.

The exploration of hatred and evil and whiteness can best be handled in a thematic essay. Only if you are an extreme patriot will you consider that Moby Dick and Pym are universal masterpieces.
